This 60 YEAR Old Classic Hit WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE to MAKE with Today's Technology!--Professor Of Rock

1965 was a landmark year in music because it marked a moment when creativity, experimentation, and cultural change collided. It was the year rock music found its voice as a serious art form. Bob Dylan went electric and proved that lyrics could be as profound as poetry. The Beatles and the Beach Boys were showcasing their evolution from pop idols to groundbreaking artists, while The Byrds an Americana supergroup merged folk and rock with biblical proportions, introducing the world to the jangle of the 12-string Rickenbacker and then you had a legendary artist write one of the greatest songs ever only to give it to a rival band! So many great stories are included and so many legends are here to help me count down the 10 greatest songs of 1965. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Executive Producer Brandon Fugal Honorary Producers Stan Summay, MG, Dave Fritz, David Roche, Bob Bell ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out my Hand Picked Selection Below Professor's Store Van Halen OU812 Vinyl Album https://amzn.to/3tLsII2 The 80s Collection https://amzn.to/3mAekOq 100 Best Selling Albums https://amzn.to/3h3qZX9 Ultimate History of 80s Teen Movie https://amzn.to/3ifjdKQ 80s to 90s VHS Video Cover Art https://amzn.to/2QXzmIX Totally Awesome 80s A Lexicon https://amzn.to/3h4ilrk Best In Ear Headphones (I Use These Every Day) https://amzn.to/2ZcTlIl ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check Out The Professor of Rock Merch Store -http://bit.ly/ProfessorMerch ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check Out Patron Benefits http://bit.ly/ProfessorofRockVIPFan Help out the Channel by purchasing your albums through our links! Many of the songs that dropped in ’65 are ageless wonders. and today I have over half of the artists behind the songs here telling the stories of these classics. So let’s get into it…Our first song on our countdown of the Top 10 Songs of that fascinating year in music features one of the greatest lyricists and vocalists of all time. It’s “The Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles I had the tremendous honor of talking with Smokey about songs over his illustrious career, and he shared the story of “The Tracks of Tears,” I’d like to share the story with you: “Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey & the Miracles in the Grammy Hall of Fame, selling over a million copies. The single climbed to #5 in Canada, #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #2 on the Billboard R&B chart. Perhaps the most meaningful props that Smokey, Marv & Pete received for crafting the song is that “Tracks of My Tears” ranked at #5 on the Top 10 Best Songs of All Time voted by a panel of 20 industry luminaries, including Hal David, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson and Jerry Leiber: At #9 on our 65 countdown, it’s the ultimate tribute to women around the world with a special nod for those in the Golden State- it’s The Beach Boys with “California Girls.” Mike Love and Brian Wilson teamed up to write this iconic track. Alongside surfing and cars, girls were a recurring theme in many of The Beach Boys’ songs, perfectly capturing the California dream that intrigued young people across the country. Here’s what they told me about it. In ‘65 “California Girls” was a surprise smash in South Africa, where it went to #1. It was also a #2 hit in Canada and rose to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. and became a hit all over again in the 80s when David Lee Roth covered it. Alright, we’re cookin' now, at #8 on our Top 10 Songs of ’65, it’s the most played song of the 20th century with a battle between 2 great voices…It’s ”You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” by The Righteous Brothers: BMI music publishing reports that "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" was the most-played song on American radio and TV throughout the entire 20th century.
