Research Updates from the National 100% Grass Dairy Cost of Production Study

Since 2018, the Northeast Grass-fed dairy research project (not feeding any grain to cows or youngstock) has been working with farmers to better understand the needs and keys to success in this growing sector of the dairy industry. This session will present highlights from the project including information from a national survey of grass-fed dairy farms, milk nutrient content, organoleptic sensory evaluation, whole farm nutrient mass balances, research on raising calves without grain, and ongoing research on grass-fed cost of production.
