DEATH IN VENICE - Final Scene - the "original" Los Angeles Ballet choreo J. Clifford (1984)

Here is the last scene, "Aschenbach and Tadzio on the Beach" where the older man, Aschenbach finally succumbs to the symbolic Angel of Death, the 14 yr-old youth, "Tadzio." I based my chamber theater piece / ballet on the novella by Thomas Mann and not the film starring Dirk Bogarde (even though that was a wonderful film, it left out "Eros" (the Greek God of Love and Desire, who figures prominently in the book). "Aschenbach" was Jorge Vargas, "Tadzio" was the 15 yr-old Damian Woetzel, the "Mother" was Diane Diefenderfer, and "Eros" was Steven Brown.
