ASSAM RIFLES SAMMAN SAMAROH FOR RETIREES (MAY 2026)

Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General #AssamRifles, felicitated retiring personnel during a solemn and heartwarming Samman Samaroh organised at Headquarters DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong. The ceremony honoured 02 Officers, 58 JCOs, 105 Other Ranks and 01 Civil Staff member who are set to superannuate on 31 May 2026 after years of dedicated and selfless service to the nation. The event witnessed the gracious presence of 105 family members from different parts of the country, making the occasion deeply emotional and memorable for the retirees. Addressing the gathering, the DG Assam Rifles expressed gratitude for the unwavering commitment, professionalism and sacrifices of the retiring personnel in safeguarding the nation and upholding the proud legacy of the Force. The programme concluded with a Veterans Day lunch and interaction session, where veterans and serving personnel fondly shared experiences and memories, reflecting the enduring bond of brotherhood, camaraderie and esprit de corps that continues to strengthen the Assam Rifles fraternity.
