PROGRAMA 30 - "Ferrocarril del Paraguay, estación por estación" - Capítulo 08

In this "Country Report" program from the Paraguayan Railway series, station by station, we dedicate the program to what we saw in Iturbe in 1998, when Augusto Roa Bastos, the great writer, was still alive. And then in 2014, with the culmination of the 1989 train station, the last trip in which "Country Report" participated. Today, Iturbe pays spectacular tribute to Augusto Roa Bastos. It has become an important tourist city. But the climate, the atmosphere of that year, 1998, that brought us to Roa Bastos, is part of the spirit of this beautiful city, which we wanted to capture in this program. The best news for Iturbe came to us two weeks ago from the governor of Guaira, Cesar Sosa. He told us that the old Iturbe sugar mill was purchased by a company that will begin operations with the 2026 harvest.
