Actually, it’s the opposite. I think the Wheel of Time is awesome. I read the first couple of books and found them enchanting, fun, and full of imagination. The purpose of this video is to explore in intense detail why the show is substandard. It fails not just as an adaptation, but as a season of television. I want to judge the show as if the books never existed. I want to figure out why the writing in this show so often lacks purpose and drive. (For the record, I do think the show is a very bad adaptation of the source material, but that’s not criticism alone.) All successful adaptations differ from their source to some degree. I’m far more interested in analyzing the lazy writing that consumes this show.
