Fusión espinal

This animation describes and illustrates spinal fusion, a surgical procedure to fuse two or more vertebrae of the spine using surgical instruments and bone graft material. Spinal fusion is used to correct various conditions, including a fractured vertebra, excessive movement between vertebrae, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, osteoarthritis of the facet joints, scoliosis, kyphosis, or a herniated disc affecting a nerve. In addition to open surgery, the animation illustrates the newer, less invasive laparoscopic method.
