Climbing Aguja Poincenot: The Potter–Davis Route | JASA team

On February 14, 2025, Grigoriy Chshukin and Leonid Krupa climbed the Dean Potter and Stéphane Davis route on the North Face of Aguja Poincenot. The route is well known for its enormous summit cornice, which forms the final hard pitch and defines the crux of the climb. The route includes 300 meters of mixed terrain, followed by 400 meters of rock climbing, with difficulties up to 7a, or 6c with sections of aid climbing up to A2. The ascent took 20 hours round-trip, starting and finishing at a tent on the glacier below the wall. The first ascent was made by Dean Potter and Stéphane Davis on March 12, 2001.
