Valuable Training Tips from an NCAA and Olympic Champion!
In this segment, the athletes work on the mat with instruction from 1972 Olympic Freestyle Champion, Dan Gable. Coach Gable begins with the lift and return drill. From a waist lock, the top man lifts the bottom man off the mat and returns him back to the mat. The bottom man immediately stands back up and the drill repeats for the allotted time. Second, the athletes go through a near wrist ride drill in which the goal for the top man is to keep the bottom man float for 20 seconds. The bottom man is to keep working up to his base.
