Airi Miyabe played a key role at the net with four impressive blocks, including two massive blocks during Japan's early run in the deciding set that helped create the winning momentum. For Brazil, captain Gabriela "Gabi" Guimarães was outstanding with 21 points. She carried much of Brazil's offense, attacked efficiently from every position, and kept her team alive until the final rallies. Júlia Bergmann also played an excellent match, adding 17 points with powerful attacks from the outside.
