Upon entering the Park Shanghai area, visitors are greeted by a large gate called the Gate of Prosperity, decorated with classic wooden ornaments, red lanterns, and guardian lion statues on the right and left sides of the gate. Park Shanghai's oriental ambiance is further enhanced by the presence of golden tree decorations in the main area and Chinese-style murals adorning several corners. Park Shanghai, an oriental-themed tourist area that blends culinary, entertainment, and distinctive Chinese architecture, officially opened to the public with no entrance fee starting Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Located right next to Pakuwon City Mall, the area offers a relaxing and culinary experience in a Chinese-style atmosphere, while remaining inclusive and welcoming to all. Park Shanghai spans approximately 2 hectares and is home to approximately 50 small tenants and eight large tenants. These tenants serve a variety of cuisines, including Chinese food, local specialties, and contemporary street food. This large tenant spans nearly 250 square meters. Seventy percent of the space offers no-pork, no-lard options, making it accessible to all ages. Several brands appearing in Park Shanghai are said to be new brands never seen in Surabaya before, and they're certainly budget-friendly, with prices starting at around 20,000 rupiah. Park Shanghai isn't just about food; it also offers non-stop entertainment every day. It has also started featuring live music, karaoke, and fireworks displays every Saturday night. With its open-air concept, oriental design, and various free activities, it's also located adjacent to PCM, Pakuwon Group. The "Shanghai" theme was chosen because it's familiar to Surabaya residents, especially for its culinary and cultural significance. The area's design is also filled with touches of oriental architecture, featuring the iconic pagoda, the Gate of Prosperity, and other distinctive Chinese decorative elements. With all the flavors, visuals, and entertainment it offers, Park Shanghai is expected to become a new attraction in East Surabaya.
