The 2026 Benoni Northern Athletic Club Marathon | The Pacing Duty

The pacing duty called one more time—and I accepted with both hands. The BNAC race is a mix of the 21 km, 42 km, and 48 km, all starting from the same point. I had originally registered for the 42 km. Pacing the 21 km and 42 km in this event is fairly straightforward since the route is a double lap, but the real challenge is the 48 km. I managed to execute the plan—delivering the 42 km runners on time and then continuing on to support the 48 km runners all the way to the end. I won’t lie, I had my doubts about even running the 42 km, especially with the fatigue still sitting in my legs from the previous race. But once again, the body followed where the mind was willing to go.
