Blender || Grease Pencil || Character Rig
For a couple big reasons, I still prefer boarding in Storyboard Pro (upper left corner). I worked loosely for a lot of it since I was also the animator. I did most of the acting refinement in that stage (lower left corner). The animation was a combination of a Harmony-esque puppet built in Blender, and "tradition" animation for the arms, legs and expression. When the puppet could not do the angle I needed, I would move off camera for those frames, and hand draw the whole character. You can see this in a couple places in the lower right corner. Other than being co-written by the talented Michael Rhea, every aspect of the short was produced solo by me; concept, design, storyboards, rigging, background modeling and painting, animation, sound, music and editing.
