Canadian guy wishes he was from Singapore 🇸🇬 (Leaving Canada?)

Imagine Canada with Singapore's leadership? What a dream! We were impressed with Singapore on our first visit- something like 1.5 years ago. We decided to go back and learn more. What we love about Singapore: it's a respectful, safe and orderly society where you can still have a beer, go to a casino, etc. It seems like a great blend of progressivism and conservatism. The people we've met from Singapore are quite proud of their place. It's rich, diverse, and peaceful. (It seems to good to be true) On this visit, we went to HDB - the Housing Developemnt Board. We learned that 80% of Singaporeans live in Housing provdided by HDB, and a whopping 92% of Singaporeans own a home. This is really impressive. If you live and work in Singapore, a portion of your pay is deducted to pay into the CPF. This is the Central Provident Fund-- a place the government saves money for you to be able to buy a house. What an idea! We met an uber driver who explained to us that, in general, Singaporeans are okay with the tax rate, because Singapore has so low corruption and the government implements great policies to help the people. A Canadian can only wish that we felt the same! My hometown of Toronto is getting to be a sad place. The last time Ivana and I were back... we were a bit depressed to see it like it is. Never ending construction projects, homelessness, drug use in public! Should we leave Canada? We hope it's not too late for a turn around where our city and look as fantastic as Singapore.
