I arrived at the lake to try spinning and fishing for pike, but the ice had already formed. I brought a boat with me. The ice was about 2 cm thick, which is a bit weak for fishing, but I decided to try it in the boat. It has a larger support surface, so I hoped the ice would hold up. However, even the boat didn't hold up. All I could do was pack up and head back. Two days later, I returned with a spinning rod again, as the weather was above freezing (4°C to 5°C), with rain and a strong wind. All the ice had been washed away, leaving only a small patch of ice near the shore. The fishing was a success.
