Harvard i-lab | The Art of the Term Sheet with Scott Yaphe
Scott Yaphe, a General Partner with ABS Ventures in Boston presented a workshop on "Term Sheets" from a business as opposed to legal perspective. You'll gain a broad understanding of the terms typically seen in an investor term sheet. This includes terms related to getting a deal done initially (i.e. valuation, amount of investment), terms that affect a startup as it grows (i.e. decision and control rights) and terms related to getting out of a deal (i.e. liquidation preferences, drag-along rights). Best practices around negotiating a term sheet as well as pitfalls to avoid are also discussed.
