Manejo de la Raza Churra y su Importancia en España - TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel

Twitter @juangangel Traditionally, for families in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain, it was essential to have a flock of sheep; they profited from their milk, hides, wool, and lambs. The Churra breed is native to the region and one of the most rustic and important. For more than 30 years, Mr. Vidal Lázaro, their shepherd, has been the one who cares for them and learns from them every day. The Churra is one of the most primitive breeds on the Iberian Peninsula, originating from Ovis aries celticus and giving its name to the Churro tree. Although for many years it was overshadowed by the predominance of the Merino breed, it has always had a significant economic significance on farms in the northern regions of León and Old Castile. Its contribution to the development of sheep farming in the Americas is also noteworthy. Churro means "farmer" or "plowman," which is why there are churro suits, churro carts, and the churro cow, indicating a condition linked to agriculture.2 Source https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oveja_c...
