A football game takes 60 minutes to play. You're not supposed to blow the final whistle before the game is over. However, during the final week of the 1968 NFL season, when the Chicago Bears played the Green Bay Packers, with the Bears needing to win the game in order to win the Central Division and make the playoffs, the referee did just that when he blew the final whistle well before the game was actually over. And this catastrophe proved to benefit the Minnesota Vikings tremendously, while screwing over the Bears in the process.
