Cergy-Pontoise dix ans après

January 15, 2003 Report. Assessment of the "new town" experiment in Cergy-Pontoise. Commentary on archival images (from the 1970s, including an interview with Bernard Hirsh, Director of Planning) and contemporary images, interviews with urban planner Michel Jaouen, Socialist Party mayor Dominique Lefebvre, testimonies from residents and a painter, Caroline Tafoiry, about local life and the architecture of the houses. It's a funeral that has gone somewhat unnoticed: that of the concept of new towns... one after the other in recent months, they have passed from the state to the municipalities. Behind this administrative decision lies a reality: these towns established in the countryside, this architects' dream, is now only a memory. The end of a utopia. In Cergy Pontoise, Daniel Wolfromme and Jean Louis Melin. INA archive footage National Audiovisual Institute http://www.ina.fr Subscribe http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c...
