While it's often thought that the reasons for arrest and imprisonment are personality and conduct issues, the fundamental cause is actually different. Observing people fired from low-wage factories reveals a fatal flaw. Approximately 28% of inmates have intellectual disabilities, and about 86% are considered to have low IQs (below the average IQ of 100) or borderline intelligence. There is a close relationship between crime and IQ (Intelligence Quotient). Why does a low IQ lead to conviction and imprisonment? Based on my experience working in factories as a temporary worker, in non-regular employment, and living in slums, I will explain using examples of problems I've encountered with people with low IQs.
