The aircraft, the crews, and the entire operation, on which the success of Soviet troops in this sector of the front depend, are at risk. Ahead lies SMERSH operations, secret agents, night sorties, sabotage, covert surveillance, false flag operations, a dangerous game against the Abwehr, and an investigation in which one mistake could cost the lives of an entire crew. A story about a legendary pilot, military counterintelligence, a night airfield, and the fight against an enemy who managed to get too close. This story is a work of fiction.
