MY PET BLUEGILL Part 1

The first video in a series about my experience keeping bluegills in a fish tank. Here I talk about why I chose to keep bluegills, and how I set up their tank, as well as some of the problems that I encounter along the way. My goal is to tame one of these bluegill to the point where it will take food from my hand, and interact with me in ways that you mght not expect. These native fish are important to many freshwater habitats in the Eastern half of the United States. Baby bluegill are an important food source for other more desireable fish such as the largemouth bass and the Northern Pike. However, bluegill are often the first fish that a fisherman (angler) will catch. Many people enjoy fishing for bluegill on light tackle, but very few fish keepers bother to keep bluegill as pets.
