Here we talk about how genes are inherited specifically when they follow the Mendelian model of inheritance. Ball pythons are an animal where pretty much all of the different "morphs" we see are simple inheritance as featured in the video. Banana is a confusing gene that is sex linked. An explanation for Banana is included. "Ethical keepers" like to quite literally judge the "genetic superiority" of animals based solely on their phenotypes, or skin color and patterns, because their understanding of genetics is as far outdated as World War 2. People died in that war in order to prevent people thinking evolution works by converging to an "ubersnek" or blond haired super soldier. Evolution is the constant production of organisms that diverge from the original. With the large population of captive ball pythons it is difficult to argue that they are somehow "genetically defective" compared to wild snakes. They are simply different than wild snakes.
