Bali Surf Journal - March 2019

All in all March has been a pretty good month. Probably not as fruitful as February, but with the bonus of some cyclone swell courtesy of Veronica we've had a fairly consistent run of small to medium sized waves. After a lot of light variable wind, and even the odd blowy S.E trades in February, it would have been easy to assume that we slide straight into classic dry season conditions for March. That certainly wasn't case with a series of thunderstorms and accompanying Westerly wind during the middle of the month. There were some great waves on Bali's East coast with the Westerly flow, but it wasn't always easy to predict exactly where and when it was going to be pumping. Nothing too out of the ordinary with the tide and swell sensitive spots in that part of town. The end of the month showed more signs of a transition into the dry season and with a forecast dominated by SE winds and a bump in the swell next week, it looks like we might get some decent waves on the Bukit for the start of April.
