LADRI IN CASA PER 5 VOLTE, IL PROPRIETARIO: «VITA CAMBIATA, NON DORMO PIU'» | 05/11/2024

A3 NEWS Treviso 05/11/2024 - CASTELFRANCO VENETO - La Marca raided by thieves. For the fifth time, a gang has managed to enter Villa Vetro, the historic summer residence of the Barovier family of Venetian glassmakers. This latest incursion is changing the lives of the Puntel family, who live there. Alexander was 18 when he found himself face to face with thieves. He was trying to hold the door closed on one side, while they were pushing from the other, tights over his head and crowbar in hand. Since that day, he has locked his room when he's alone. Last afternoon, thieves broke into the house again. He was in Venice for a concert, his parents were in the cemetery, and they broke into this gate. From there, they quickly got into the house, into the living room, where they smashed through a trap door and then, likely guided by a metal detector, destroyed this plasterboard wall, believing it hid a safe. They eventually found the safe, ripped it out, and took it. Alexander has been wondering what went wrong with the security system ever since. The cameras are connected to a private security service, but they wouldn't have recorded anything; the alarm system didn't work. The suspicion is that it was uninstalled remotely, just like cybercriminals do. And so there's no peace for the Puntel family. Father Patrizio returns home in the late morning. Upon discovering yet another burglar in his home, he felt ill. In the afternoon, the family filed a complaint with the Carabinieri, who were called as soon as they discovered the incident. We no longer buy gold or silver, I no longer stay home alone at night, Alexander Puntel says openly with his head held high: this is how thieves changed my life. Alexander never thought about guns, knowing that owning one could backfire. - Interviewed by ALEXANDER PUNTEL (Report by Anna De Roberto) - Follow Antenna Tre on digital terrestrial too!
