This morning at 6AM we went to one of Masaya's local street food vendors — a woman who has been selling chicharrón, frito (Nicaraguan carnitas), and fresh tortillas in the same spot for 50 years. This is the real local breakfast that Nicaraguans line up for, and it's the kind of food and tradition most visitors never find. As an American living in Masaya, getting out early and eating where the locals eat is one of the best parts of life here.
