(English version below) Kuopion kaupunginorkesterin Tulilintu-konsertissa kuullaan venäläisiin kansansatuihin perustuva Tulilintu-baletti, joka sinkosi Igor Stravinskyn välittömästi maailmanmaineeseen Pariisissa vuonna 1910. Kuopion Musiikkikeskuksen Konserttisalissa tallennetussa Kuopion kaupunginorkesterin konsertissa kuullaan maailman esitetyimpiin kuuluvan orkesteriteoksen konserttiversio. Tulilintu sijoittuu taianomaiseen puutarhaan, jossa nuori prinssi Ivan taistelee pahaa Kastsei Kuolematonta vastaan saadakseen omakseen vangitun prinsessan. Ihmeellisen Tulilinnun avulla Ivan tuhoaa Kastsein ”hirnyrkit”, ja elämä palaa maahan. Illan aloittaa Sergei Prokofjevin Sinfonia Concertante, jossa voi myös kuulla musiikillisen tarinan taistelusta myyttisten hahmojen kanssa ja läpi salaperäisten maiden. Tarinan sankarina soittaa nouseva sellistitähti, Jonathan Roozeman. Konsertin johtaa Kuopion kaupunginorkesterin ylikapellimestari Eugene Tzigane. And like Ilya Muromets (the liberator of Kiev), our cello-hero, played by a rising cello star Jonathan Roozeman who is already establishing himself as a player of exceptional musical integrity, musically embarks on quests through mysterious lands and fights mythic creatures. What evening of folk tales would be complete without L’Oiseau de feu, by Igor Stravinsky, and not just the usual Suite but rather the complete ballet! Set in the magical garden of Kashchey the Deathless, the young Prince Ivan battles for the hand of a beautiful princess who is imprisoned there. With the help of the magical Firebird, Ivan is able to destroy Kashchey’s ’horcrux’ and life is returned to the land. The concert is conducted by the KSO Chief Conductor, Eugene Tzigane.
