Some sailors' worst nightmare is docking stern-to-shore. While theoretically known, every stern-to-shore docking becomes a different adventure each time due to the current and wind. There's only one solution: LOTS OF PRACTICE! Dropping to the dock is a stern-to-shore docking, as is docking in the bay. The only difference is that there are no neighboring boats to keep you in line. 😃 I, in particular, never leave my boat, or the helm, idle during a maneuver to tie off the rope. Because the wind can drag the boat at any moment. Because the most basic principle is that the captain never abandons his boat! Especially during a maneuver! It's just like parking your car, opening the door, and getting out. 🙈 In short, I don't think it's right. Therefore, while it may seem like positive discrimination, it's a principle, and I recommend that you seek support from neighboring boats when you're sailing solo, regardless of gender. Because cooperation is a fundamental part of sailing. This kind of cooperation shouldn't necessarily be done when you're in a difficult situation. Of course, while there's an opportunity, you can't abuse it and ask for help in the most inconvenient way. The balance is yours. I also dock without assistance in windless weather. However, it's very difficult to get back and forth. The only difference is that it's risk-free and tiring. How do I do a stern-to-shore berthing, which requires at least two people, by myself?
