Japan Has a Crab You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

There are many ways to enjoy crab in Japan. But today in Osaka, we discovered a crab that many people outside Japan have probably never heard of. Today, we’re in Namba, Osaka, visiting Kasumigani Ichiban, a newly opened crab restaurant specializing in Kasumi Crab from Kasumi Port in Hyogo Prefecture. We tried their special Snow Crab and Kasumi Crab Comparison Course, enjoying the two varieties side by side through sashimi, grilling, crab shabu-shabu, and more. Both were incredibly delicious, and tasting them together allowed us to appreciate the subtle differences in sweetness, juiciness, and texture. Each cooking method brought out something different in the crab. This was one of the most luxurious crab meals we’ve had in a while, and considering the quality, variety, and generous amount of crab included, we were also impressed by the value of the course. So what exactly is Kasumi Crab, and what makes it special? Let’s find out. **This video is sponsored by Kasumigani Ichiban.
