Good afternoon, friends! I am pleased to welcome you to the Metalloobrabotka 2024 exhibition! Visiting this exhibition is already becoming a tradition for me, and I am pleased. One of the key conclusions I made after attending the exhibition is that the situation in the metalworking industry in Russia is far from pessimistic. In fact, many products are already manufactured at domestic enterprises. Some metal-cutting tools and other goods are manufactured in Russia. However, it is worth noting that we still rely on foreign suppliers for the supply of tool blanks and components. It is encouraging that our Russian manufacturers of machine tools, software, and tools, who were present at previous exhibitions, have not disappeared; they have only expanded their footprint. It is encouraging that our government recognizes the importance of the machine tool industry and is taking steps to accommodate our Russian manufacturers. I must admit that complete import substitution is unlikely to be achieved in the coming years, and perhaps it is not necessary. In a world where countries closely interact in the market, Manufacturing all products in a single country is a complex and not always economically feasible task. Nevertheless, it is important for Russia to achieve a closed production cycle in critical industries. Issues with CNC machine tool systems are still being addressed: although components are mostly imported, software is increasingly domestic. We can already cast machine frames, but high-tech components are primarily of Asian origin. Among the trends of this year, I would highlight the robotization of production; there is a labor shortage, and there is a widespread shortage of personnel. Robotic systems should solve this problem. Additive technologies continue to develop, and the emergence of domestic manufacturers of metal 3D printing machines is encouraging.
