Insane Inshore Feeding Frenzy: Giant Tuna & Striped Bass!

Sometimes the best bites happen where you least expect them. We teamed up with Captain Gene Quigley aboard Shore Catch Charters and found ourselves in the middle of an unreal bluefin tuna fishing and striped bass fishing feed only 3 miles off the beach. Birds diving, bait spraying, giant tuna fishing explosions everywhere, and nonstop topwater fishing chaos made this one of the wildest offshore fishing and saltwater fishing trips we’ve had in a long time. This trip had everything — speed jigging, slow pitch jigging, vertical jigging, topwater tuna fishing with big UVT poppers, assist hook setups, fishing tips, how to rig techniques, and real world lessons on how to catch tuna while fishing for bluefin tuna and giant striped bass in shallow water. Watching atlantic bluefin tuna crashing bait this close to shore during an ocean fishing bite like this never gets old. We were rotating between poppers, casting stickbaits, UVT The Chief, UVT Jig Systems, assist hooks, and tuna jigging setups while testing speed jigging tuna and slow pitch jigging tuna presentations on giant fish blowing up all around the boat. From tuna popping to saltwater jigging and deep water jigging, every cast felt like it could get crushed.
