A band of heavy rain has been and continues to be present over northern central Germany. Elsewhere, showers and thunderstorms have cleared the air of dust and pollen. The rain will continue intermittently – there's more to come. Only the Mother's Day weekend will see a brief period of sunshine and warmer weather. Otherwise, a cool and wet May will prevail.
