It's an introduced species and generally speaking it's not wise to cultivate, propagate or encourage it in any way. In this garden environment it's being exploited rather than cultivated with the intention being for it to eradicate itself once it's purpose has been served, see both follow up videos for the demise of the cactus over time, as planned.
