Cutting the Baffles Out of Stock Harley-Davidson Pipes • Low Rider ST

My budget didn't stretch quite far enough for new pipes right away, so I used a cutting disc to cut the baffles out of the stock exhaust pipes and effectively created my own slip-ons to make them sound less like a sewing machine and more like a Harley-Davidson. I also fashioned up some short, open baffles using the removed parts and some DK Thunder Torque lollipop inserts. Check out the comparison between the completely open pipes and the pipes with the shorter open baffles fitted. ---- Video Contents ---- 00:00 Intro 00:10 Why Take Out the Stock Baffles? 01:13 What the Inside of a Stock H-D Pipe Looks Like 02:20 DK Thunder Torque Inserts 02:58 The Heat Shields 03:26 Removing and Taking Apart the Stock Pipes 05:02 Measuring and Cutting the Pipes and Heat Shields 06:59 Refitting the Pipes and Heat Shields 07:45 Open Stock Pipes Sound Check 08:11 Fabricating Open Baffles 09:46 Comparing the Open Pipe and Open Baffle Sounds Taking baffles out of a Harley exhaust.
