Infrastructures routières au Mali : Tombouctou veut ses droits

The youth of Timbuktu, like those in other cities in southern Mali, had blocked the city all the way to the airport to demand the rehabilitation of their roads. Due to insecurity and the poor condition of the roads, many travelers prefer to take boats, despite the exorbitant ticket prices. After several days of road blockades by the youth, the government dispatched three ministers to negotiate with the protesters. An agreement was reached, and the start of the Nampala-Timbuktu roadworks is scheduled for November 25th. This promise is being closely watched by the youth of the "Timbuktu Wants Its Rights" collective. For these young people, the development of Timbuktu depends on opening up access to the city. Droit Libre TV followed the various stages of this process and brings you this exclusive report.
