Hi! I'm Nico, I design realistic, high quality 3D printed costume armor as a hobby. I've wanted to talk about the many sins of cheap amazon LARP armor, specifically shoulder armor, for a long time. Turns out making proper pauldrons appears to be kind of a lost art. Movie and LARP designs are effectively only making a caricature of the visual language of real pauldrons, while ignoring centuries of engineering and wisdom.
