Замена Топливного Фильтра в Subaru! Что Стало с Фильтром в Бензобаке После 100 000 км.
In modern automotive engineering, the gasoline filter has migrated from under the hood directly to the gas tank. I remember when my father and I changed that transparent plastic container on our Moskvich 2141 almost every year. We'd drive, well, no more than 10,000 kilometers and could clearly see how dirty it was getting. Then, on our 1995 Toyota Carina E, the filter was completely metalized and sealed. Therefore, there was no way to determine the current state of contamination of the filter element. I simply followed a specific schedule of 30,000-35, 40,000-45,000 kilometers, but the replacement procedure itself was just as simple. The filter was located under the hood, and it was easy to release two clamps, thereby completely replacing it. But what trend are we seeing now? My 2015 Subaru Outback, nicknamed "Flint," and its fuel filter, plus the fuel pump and fuel level sensor itself, are all housed in a single basket hidden in the gas tank. To service it, you'll have to remove the rear seats, unscrew the cap, and replace it. The problem is, not every service center will replace and overhaul such a filter. Because it's probably not such a simple procedure? Even the authorized dealer says there's no need to bother, since servicing such a fuel filter is "recommended" after about 90,000-100,000 kilometers. And as far as I understand, even the authorized Subaru dealer replaces this part as a whole, meaning the entire basket, fuel pump, and all sensors are included. You remove the old element and install the new element. But what if the filter element doesn't require replacement? What about the spare part? One of the service technicians even said that this filter is maintenance-free and designed to last the vehicle's entire lifespan, and should only be changed if something goes wrong with the fuel pump. "But if everything runs fine, starts, and there's no hesitation when you press the gas pedal," then you don't even need to bother... But what happened? Why did we previously change the filter every 10,000 kilometers, then every 30,000-45, and now every 60,000 kilometers? Has the gasoline gotten cleaner? Or maybe the fuel filters have become less clogged, or stopped clogging? Or is it just a coincidence that 100,000 kilometers is the vehicle's warranty period, and after that, it's up to you to decide what to do. In this video, I'll try to explain in as much detail as possible how to replace a fuel filter. At the end of the video, we'll cut it open and see how dirty the filter element is. Let's answer the question: is this procedure worth it, or can I just forget about it and continue driving for 100, 200, and 300,000 km without worrying about anything? So now I'll change my clothes and we'll continue... If you found this video interesting and informative, please support me with a Like and a Subscription!
