Arte, cultura e história em Teresina/PI

We visited the Mestre Dezinho Handicraft Center in Teresina and discovered that one of the shops there was used as a torture chamber during the military dictatorship. The building, constructed between 1844 and 1852, was once a school for artisans and also a military police barracks for over 100 years. During the dictatorship (1964–1985), the space also served as a center for political detention and repression.
