Stamboli Cottage, Feodosia. The incredibly beautiful Stamboli Cottage. Hello, friends. Today we would like to introduce you to a unique landmark in Feodosia, Crimea. Stamboli Cottage is one of the landmarks of Feodosia (Crimea), often depicted in various guidebooks, postcards, and advertising brochures as a symbol of the city. It is a cultural heritage site. Inside, there is a museum exhibition and an underwater archeology restoration and exhibition center. The dacha is located next to the railway, the Volna sanatorium building, and opposite the Sarygolsky Bridge. Construction of this seaside villa, designed by St. Petersburg architect O.E. Wegener, began in 1909 and lasted five years. First-guild merchant Iosif Stamboli, son of tobacco manufacturer Veniamin Stamboli, wanted to give the estate as a wedding gift to his future wife, Rachel Ilyinichna Bobovich. The construction of the dacha cost Iosif Stamboli a very large sum for the time – 1,100,000 rubles. Construction of the building, in the Spanish-Moorish style, was completed in 1915. Iosif Stamboli lived in the completed mansion for only three years. After the October Revolution, the entire Stamboli family left Crimea and settled in France.
