Is this one of those walkie-talkies that are commonly sold on Amazon and that, if used as is in Japan, constitutes an illegal radio station? I have witnessed what appears to be an illegal station. It is being sold by taking advantage of a tricky point in the system whereby a walkie-talkie has a technical approval, but that does not necessarily mean it can be used without a license. The Radio Law has a system known as Article 80 Reporting, which requires reporting when an illegal radio station is recognized, but at this stage, I have just seen something that seems suspiciously illegal. Should I take the receiver with me to confirm whether it is an illegal station and report it to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications? That's the question. For in-house work in a restaurant, I recommend a specified low-power walkie-talkie.
