In the summer of 2022, McLaren were in the middle of acquiring the Mercedes EQ Formula E team, and amid contract negotiations and driver turmoil in their Indycar program, they looked to appoint Formula E veteran Felix Rosenqvist to head their brand new Formula E team. This however, would not pan out, and just 3 years later, the team has announced that they will leave Formula E altogether. But if Rosenqvist had made the jump, and found immediate success, as he did when he turned the midpack Mahindra team into title contenders back in his Formula E debut, could he have saved the Mclaren team from shutting down after just 3 seasons?
