Having delivered a string of sensational works, including the unpredictable plot of "Sagasu" (2022), which garnered acclaim, and "Gannibal" (2023), which was critically acclaimed not only in Japan but across Asia, Yoshio is now taking on the challenge of adapting the short story "Desire in the Rain" by legendary manga artist Yoshiharu Tsuge, known for works such as "Nejishiki" and "Muno no Hito," which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. The main cast includes Ryo Narita, Eriko Nakamura, and Tsuyoshi Morita. This is a bizarre love story that intertwines the bittersweet yet intense sexual and emotional love between two men and one woman. STORY Yoshio (Ryo Narita), an unsuccessful manga artist living in the impoverished Kitamachi area, is called upon by his landlord, Yaji O (Naoto Takenaka), who appears to be running a shady business outside of his apartment complex, to help him move, along with self-proclaimed novelist Imori (Tsuyoshi Morita). There, he meets the recently divorced Fukuko (Eriko Nakamura). Yoshio is captivated by Fukuko's seductive charm, but it seems she is already dating someone. In order to publish his own novel, Imori works with a shady publishing company employee to plan a PR magazine for Kitamachi, modeled after the PR magazines popular in the wealthy Minamimachi area. Yoshio is forced to help with advertising sales. Soon after, Fukuko and Imori show up at Yoshio's house, and the three of them begin a strange life together, with Yoshio harboring undying feelings for Fukuko...
