Kennywood Junction Opening Ceremony + Olde Kennywood Railroad POV

On April 12, 2025, Kennywood Park opened for the season, along with their newest addition: Kennywood Junction. A revamp of the park's former Thomas Town area, Kennywood Junction has rethemed the five existing rides to better fit the park's aesthetic, and one of these rides is the fan-favorite Olde Kennywood Railroad. The train ride has been reverted to its theme of telling the history of Kennywood, with some artifacts from the park's history along the way. The railroad features two engines: the newly-refurbished 1939 Gimbels Flyer (which is running in this video) and the new Kenny Express, which looks kind of similar to another engine you might know. Right after park opening, general manager Ricky Spicuzza led a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new area. Kennywood Junction serves not only as a tribute to the old days of Kennywood, but also as a hub for the park's new Easter event, where kids can meet Tuft the Easter bunny. Enjoy this footage I filmed on opening day around the area, including a full POV of the Olde Kennywood Railroad. Featuring a special appearance from everyone's favorite mascot JEETERS! I'm listing this footage under creative commons. Feel free to use it in your own video, but please give proper credit!
