Medieval cathedral builders erected soaring structures like hands reaching out to God. Buddhist monks utilized the underground passages created by nature over millions of years to appreciate the patience with which individual drops carved the rocks and created the astonishing limestone formations. It was there that the monks placed sacred images. Today we were privileged to visit this place, beautifully illuminated and filled with Buddha images. The silence was broken only by the rustle of falling drops and the rustle of bat wings circling overhead. But the mountain we visited held another secret – a stark cave filled with light streaming from openings in the walls and ceiling. This place, accessible after a steep climb, is intended for meditation. Perhaps Khao Tam Ma Rong Mountain holds even more secrets? Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/chjWMy4qqHwJX...
