Martin 000-28 vs OM-28

A side by side comparison of two iconic Martins, the 000-28 standard and the OM-28 standard. Essentially the only difference between these two is the scale length, 24.9 on the 000 and 25.4 on the OM. The only cosmetic difference is the standard pickguard on the 000 and the smaller teardrop shape pickguard on the OM. So pay attention to the pickguards as I switch back and forth between the two guitars, to keep track of which is which. Both have Elixir light gauge phosphor bronze nanoweb strings on them. There is a subtle but real difference in the sound of these two guitars, hopefully you can pick that up in the recording. The 000 is quieter, sweeter, more lush, airy, smooth and blended notes. The OM is louder, more punchy, fatter, and more complex, with more note seperation. The feel is also noticeably different. Although the body size is the same, the neck on the OM is a 1/2" longer, and consequently the frets are spaced a little further apart. The string tension is greater on the longer-scaled OM, and therefore the strings feel a little stiffer or tighter under the fingers than the 000.
