DUCK BOAT Hunt on Open Water | It ACTUALLY WORKED!

I brought the duck boat back out for a Sunday solo duck hunt in early January 2024. Due to fluctuations in water levels I was a bit concerned about hiding the boat in the reeds up on shore. If the dam lets out a bit more water, I could end up stranded. I made the most of it and placed the boat about 20 yards off shore...and hunted out of it! With the sun right in my face, it was not the most ideal conditions. With everything working against me, I still managed to pull some birds within range! What a surprise, and this actually gives me some good ideas for future hunts. I would really like to try to brush up the boat as much as possible and anchor up 80 yards out. Could it work for puddle ducks? Would they think it's an island? You tell me! Have you tried this and had success? Check out the Friday and Saturday hunts here!
