Clinical Diagnostic Stewardship – An integral component of the national AMR response

Drug-resistant infections are on the rise. How we diagnose them matters as much as we treat them. WHO in the Western Pacific has developed a practical manual to help clinicians and health workers order the right diagnostic test, for the right patient, at the right time, and act on results in the right way. Good clinical diagnostic stewardship saves lives. It improves patient outcomes, strengthens surveillance data on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and reduces low-value care, including unnecessary and costly tests.
