Furthermore, the enraged relatives and members of the community tore the clothes of Dr. Anand Gupta, the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), and subjected him to a severe beating at the hands of the mob. According to reports, Kuldeep Jain—a resident of Koon in Lasadiya—was traveling to Udaipur on his motorcycle for some work when a Nilgai (blue bull) suddenly appeared on the road ahead. This caused him to lose control of his bike and crash onto the road, resulting in fractures to both of his arms. He was subsequently rushed by ambulance to the JP Orthopedic Hospital, where, given the critical nature of his condition, he underwent surgery.
