Whether you are new to Torchon lace or already comfortable with your bobbins, this series will help you develop your skills while creating a beautiful finished piece. A Close-Up Learning Experience This series includes both a clear overview of the bobbins and a detailed close-up of the threads as they are worked. This dual view allows you to see exactly where each pair travels, while also understanding how the bobbins are handled. This combination is rarely shown in bobbin lace videos and makes it much easier to follow the movements with confidence. You can watch the structure develop and the stitches form in real time, helping you build accuracy and rhythm as you work. What This Series Covers Week 1: Adding the pairs and starting the lace We begin by adding the pairs and setting up the foundation of the design, taking time to establish good tension and a confident start. Week 2: Working the main pattern This week focuses on the heart of Diamond Reflections, guiding you through the repeating pattern so you can build the structure with ease. Week 3: Turning the corners Learn how to work the corners neatly and smoothly, an important stage that gives the design its distinctive shape. Week 4: Completing and finishing the lace In the final video, we complete the lace, apply stiffener, and join the corners to create the three-dimensional form. You will also see how the piece can be opened out again for flat storage when not on display. About the Pattern Diamond Reflections is one of my original bobbin lace designs, created to be enjoyable to make and rewarding to see take shape beneath your hands. The repeating pattern forms a striking three-dimensional decoration, giving the finished piece real presence when displayed.
