World Cup cost overruns are 'outrageous,' while tourists are repelled
The World Cup is just days away. Canada will be hosting games for the first time, a total of 13, seven in Vancouver and six in Toronto. But the price tag for all of this is growing considerably. The Parliamentary Budget Officer now pages it at roughly a billion dollars. That's just for 13 games. And in particular in Vancouver, the cost of soared well passed what the initial estimates were.
